Demon's Souls/Dark Souls Empty

I always say I'm a casual gamer. I don't play many titles. So it's a bit strange that on a shopping trip to GameStop (to buy something for someone else) I picked up a copy of Demon's Souls.

Prepare for a bit of rambling...

Something about the cover art just grabbed my attention. And for the life of me, I'd never heard of it before. It boasted about it's difficulty and it's austere tone. And it was cheap so I bought it. I can't explain what it is about this game I love more. The art design captures a world on the brink of total annihilation. The story, while interesting, is vague enough to allow for different interpretations. And the music... this game is atmospheric to an extreme and the soundtrack contributes heavily to the experience. I don't think any game had captivated me as much as this until...

Dark Souls came out at roughly the same time as Skyrim. Maybe because of this, Dark Souls received far less attention. Dark Souls is the spiritual sequel to Demon's Souls. It includes many throwbacks to its predecessor while introducing many new gameplay mechanics. Most notably with the use of an open world design. The story is presented in minimal fashion, which is off-putting to many people. But from an RPG perspective, the lore in this game is incredible. YouTube videos just to check out a bit lol.

I'm not kidding when I say I've spent hours watching playthroughs and analyses of these games. They're notoriously difficult, but very rewarding to complete... though I've never completed either title all the way through... I do; however, enjoy participating in co-operative play. Just clearing areas and fighting bosses with other people.

Dark Souls II is scheduled to come out later in March  2014. SUPER EXCITED

If anyone has experience with these games (positive or negative) I'd love to hear about it. I am quite a big fan of the series, but I recognize they have flaws and limited appeal. If you decide to play on PS3, add me!
